The one room schoolhouse on my family's farm in the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont was built in 1850. After it was decommissioned as a school it was converted for use as a residence. This summer, as part of a much needed re-roofing job, the bell tower was rebuilt and the original bell rerigged. Family members and neighbors gathered to hear the bell ring out for the first time in decades.
This is great, we have it up on eBay right now. Just search yqz to find this or other things we have up on eBay. It is a 19th century school bell, the type used in an old single room school house. COOL!!
